Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened (1/2 lb)
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
1 teasp lemon juice
1 tbsp vanilla
3 cups flour
2 teasp baking soda
1 1/2 teasp salt
1 teasp ground cinammon
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 oz packages chocolate
chips
2 cups walnuts

Recipe

Beat butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar in large bowl on high speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla and lemon juice.

In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt, cinammon, oats. Gradually add butter mixture, blending thouroghly. Stir in chocolate chops and walnut.

Use 1/4 cup dough for each cookie, spacing 3 inches apart. Soft - cook at 325 degrees for 17 - 19 min or until golden brown. Crisp - cook at 350 degrees for 16 - 18 minutes or until golden brown.

Transfer to racks and let cool. Store air tight. Makes 3 dozen.
